Changemakers from 12 nations, 24 partner organizations, 7 days, 6 social impact projects.
From October 3rd – 9th, Bengaluru was home to changemakers from across the world at the Changemakers’ Room 2016, a seven day Training Forum organized by Make Room India in collaboration with national and international knowledge and strategic partners representing more than 12 countries and each continent of the world.
Held at the Green Path Eco Hotel, the training was attended by visionaries like Anshu Gupta, founder, Goonj, Sunitha Krishnan, founder, Prajwala, Shikha Uberoi, former WTA Tennis player and founder, Indi.com India, Dr. Akkai Padmashali, founder, Ondede and many others. Changemakers included individuals from leading non-profit organisatons, CSR professionals, inventors, educators and students representing India, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Palestine, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Spain, Lithuania, Latvia, Norway and Belgium.
Along with partner organisations, the changemakers worked together to create the first ever Action Agenda For Change 2020, a four year long commitment to lead social impact change within their communities worldwide. Over the next four years, these changemakers will work on 6 impact projects that focus on (working objectives):
- Bridging the gap in mental health amongst the migrant communities;
- Creating minority-represented changemakers at the leadership positions;
- Reducing exploitation of marginalised communities, due to economic, legal and social vulnerabilities;
- Promoting sustainable food processing as response to pro-consumerism system;
- Promoting entrepreneurial education to fight against high unemployment rate;
- Introducing entrepreneurial education into mainstream academic education system.
The immersive Training Forum, open to changemakers across the world, aims to be a collaborative effort in identifying the most pressing problems globally, shortlisting the problems changemakers as individuals can solve or prevent and finding innovative, sustainable and replicable solutions.
