An ambitious project Development of Multi–Modal Logistic Parks under Sagarmala Programme to benefit containerized cargo movement in India is undertaken by the present government.
Our PM has been speaking about development. A lot is in progress and results will be seen soon. Main stream media doesn’t bother to share the details in a way that common man understand the reason why a certain project was done and how would it benefit.
How does it benefit the common man?
This brings down the cost of the products.
This improves the turn around time for delivery.
Cargo movement is door to door.
Enhanced control on logistics and flawless.
Let us look at one such MULTI MODAL LOGISTIC PARK (MMLP), KATHUWAS, Neemrana Tehsil, Distt. Alwar, Rajasthan. This was inaugurated on March 19, 2016 and has been developed by CONCOR in 300 Acre Land (+ 200 Acre Land more to be added shortly) with 5 full length railways lines capable of handling double stack trains, all types of containers and wagons including auto car rakes will certainly help in bringing the NCR region closer to the Ports. It is said to be the Largest Inland Container Depot in Asia.
This MMLP will provide a single window clearance with EDI and PDA facility along with providing technological tools for tracking containers. It is the first MMLP of its kind catering to export-import as well as domestic trade with Air Cargo Consolidation facility, Container Transshipment Hub with state of art Warehousing facility and equipment.
It is likely to gain massive share of Sea Cargo due to it’s location on Rajasthan Harayana Border & having in neighborhood Industrial Areas like Neemrana (including Japanese Zone), Shahjanpur, Behrod etc in Rajasthan & Bawal, Dharuheda, Bhiwadi etc in Haryana.
While ICDs at Tuglakabad & Patparganj are likely to be closed on Order by NATIONAL GREEN TRIBUNAL, a major part of Cargo being handled here would also be shifted to MMLP, Kathuwas.
It is strategically located at 120 kms from CONCOR the National Capital on Dedicated Freight Corridor alignment serving key markets like NCR (National Capital Region), Haryana, Northern Rajasthan etc. and is well connected to all the major highways and railway networks.
