NG Suncity Phase II Residents awaiting BMC Action

What can you do when a shop in a housing society runs a tea stall and restaurant, has cylinder with no license and allows a Pan shop in front of it. ?

The members of housing society complained to the local Corporator Mr Yogesh Bhoir and respective BMC officers.

The restaurant in the picture is using cylinders to cook which are not authorised.  The Pan shop is given space right in front of it by the owner of the restaurant. Next to it is a ladies salon. The salon is having low footfalls as females from the vicinity avoid going there because of starring eyes at the restaurant and Pan Shop.

Sufficient correspondence is done by Members of NG Suncity Phase II Farid Estate Thakur Village. Kandivli East Mumbai 400101.

At night this Pan Shop and benches of the restaurant becomes place of meeting for anti social elements. These people are a mix of educated and uneducated people. They cover a large area smoking around the place. At times young boys fully drunked in costly cars are seen hovering the place discussing things too loudly and of least importance to people staying close by and moving around for necessary things.

Using open place for placing benches to welcome their customers is a common sight used by restaurants. BMC and local police have time and again demolished such establishment. What is also known is that the vendors / restaurants are made to pay a fine. Road side stalls hide their stuff and cart in by lanes when surprise checks are done.

The areas around Express Tower in Nariman Point used to be full of roadside eateries. Once a conscious call was taken to remove them, now it not only remains clean but no vendor has the courage to set up stall there.

What is required is a much strict action against the owners. A legal action that would become a deterrent against such businesses. Common people avoid going to police station for reasons best known. Plus action against the local BMC officers. Trust this would work well. What Prime Minister Modi is doing in his office needs to be done at local level. i.e. go to root cause of the problem.

Would be great to have our Mumbai Police Commissioner and BMC Commisioner relook at the way this nuisance can be stopped. Mumbaikars would be more than happy to give a standing ovation.

To start with residents of NG Suncity Phase II (roughly 400 plus family) are awaiting action and permanent relief from this problem.
