We have seen our PM Modi visit several countries, meet Head of States and interact in the last three years. But the enthusiasm that was visible in both the countries with regard to NaMo’s Israel visit was mind boggling. PM Netanhayu’s decision to remain with NaMo all throughout the trip was amazing and has been icing on the cake.
Why are we discussing a NaMo trip that is over, signed and sealed with plenty of MoU’s?
The reason is simple. If the previous governments had taken the pain of going an extra mile to bridge the gap between the two countries then probably the expectation from this visit would have been different.
The videos and pictures shared by media from both the countries are really emotional and not routine in nature. The bonding between PM Netanhayu and PM Modi is like 1995 Bollywood film KARAN ARJUN. Father killed when children were very young and nothing left for the mother to survive. Children also killed by goon Durjan Singh later on.
No one expected miracle except for the Mother. One fine day KARAN ARJUN do return and take revenge.
After britishers left no one across the globe had expected India to emerge as global power, the way it is at present. None expected Israel to emerge as leaders in so many fields the way they have protected themselves despite enemies on all sides.
To me Netanhayu and Modi are real life KARAN ARJUN. Both going against the odds to protect their motherland.
Though India has not been lucky like Israel to have consistently great leadership but with PM Modi at the helm of affairs leading the way to set up protective future, none other than Israel is suited for dependability.
Without peace nothing prevails. And with growing terrorism around us we need a reliable friend like Israel. It helped us during Kargil war and has been around in many other ways as well. People may talk about Russia as a friend but it is more of commercial friend.
With Israel we have a different connect and it enables us to just move ahead and enjoy fruits of friendship.
India is the largest buyer of Israeli military equipment and Israel is the second-largest defence supplier to India after Russia. From 1999 to 2009, the military business between the two nations was worth around $9 billion. Military and strategic ties between the two nations extend to intelligence sharing on terrorist groups and joint military training.
As of 2014, India is the third-largest Asian trade partner of Israel, and tenth-largest trade partner overall.
Mahatma Gandhi believed the Jews had a good case and a prior claim for Israel but opposed the creation of Israel on religious terms. India voted against the Partitioning of Palestine plan of 1947 and voted against Israel’s admission to the United Nations in 1949. RSS sympathised with the creation of Israel. Vinayak Damodar Savarkar supported the creation of Israel on both moral and political grounds and condemned India’s vote at the UN
17th September 1950, India officially recognised the State of Israel.
From India’s recognition of Israel in 1950 to the early 1990s, the relationship remained informal in nature due to vote bank politics and fear of offending arab nations.
India formally established relations with Israel in January 1992
1998 Israel did not condemn pokhran nuclear tests inspite of US doing so.
After 26/11 attacks israel sent 40 special action force ppl to help India.
RAW and MOSSAD have been helping out each other since Indira Gandhi time
India is helped in agriculture and in Ganga cleaning by Israel
In 2007 first Hindu-jewish interfaith conference was held . Next was held in Israel .
Time has come create safe environment around our borders. Though mutual cooperation will go hand in hand in other fields as well. But it will pick up pace when there is peace internally and externally.
In 2017, mutual cooperation has been put in top gear by both leaders. Karan Arjun have arrived and motherland is happy.
